Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center (MMTC)

The MMTC’s mission is: To Enhance the Global Competitiveness of Michigan’s Small and Midsize Manufacturers. Michigan Quality Council

The Michigan Quality Council was formally created by business leaders in November, 1993, to promote the adoption of Total Quality Management practices defined by the criteria established by the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.

Manufacturing Extension Partnership [MEP]

MEP stands for the Manufacturing Extension Partnership. We also like to say that it's short for, "rolling up our sleeves and diving in."

MEP is a nationwide network of more than 70 not-for-profit Centers whose sole purpose is to provide small and medium-sized manufacturers with the help they need to succeed. The Centers, located in all 50 states and Puerto Rico, are linked together through the Department of Commerce’s National Institute of Standards and Technology. That makes it possible for even the smallest firms to have access to more than 2,000 knowledgeable manufacturing and business specialists. These are people who have had experience on manufacturing floors and in plant operations. They’ve been where you are today. And they’ve lived to tell about it!


Manufacturing Technology Transfer Center [MTTC]

The Manufacturing Technology Transfer Center is a public/private partnership operated by Innovative Productivity, Inc. for the United States Navy Manufacturing Technology Program (MANTECH). The purpose of the MTTC is to assist manufacturing and businesses with the application of advanced technology.

National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)

An agency of the U.S. Department of Commerce's Technology Administration, NIST's primary mission is to promote U.S. economic growth by working with industry to develop and apply technology, measurements, and standards.


New Zealand Organisation for Quality

QFD Institute

The Institute was founded in 1993 to advance QFD methodology, a unique design and development approach for new product, service, and software. QFD originated in Japan in the mid-1960s led by the efforts of the late Dr. Shigeru Mizuno and Dr. Yoji Akao (ret. Tamagawa University, currently with Asahi University). QFD is a system of discovering customer requirements and translating them into the language of the producer or provider.
